Position Overview
The Customer Solutions Engineer will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between our technical, sales, and partner success teams, ensuring a thorough understanding of our product offerings and their technical capabilities. At the pre-sale stage, this role will work closely with our sales team to understand customer requirements and propose creative, tailored solutions that leverage our technology to deliver real value.
Post-sale, the Customer Solutions Engineer will work closely with the Partner Success team to ensure a smooth onboarding, including configuring SSO connections & integrating APIs. From onboarding and beyond, the Customer Solutions Engineer will remain a resource for the Partner Success team as they work to ensure client success. The ideal candidate has a development background, a customer-focused approach, and excels in collaboration to maximize solution impact. Creativity and teamwork are key to success in this role.
Location: Denver-metro area-based candidates strongly preferred; open to candidates working remotely in the U.S.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a subject matter expert on the technical aspects of Academic Impressions products and services throughout the customer journey.
- Serve as a bridge between customer needs and internal teams, ensuring that technical solutions align with client expectations and company goals.
- Assist in responding to Request for Proposals and other technical inquiries from prospective and existing clients.
- Deliver product demonstrations and presentations that effectively communicate the value and functionality of our offerings.
- Work alongside the Partner Success team to ensure seamless post-sale onboarding and ongoing technical support to meet client goals.
- Leverage development skills to assist clients with custom configurations, including Single Sign-On (SSO) setups and API integrations.
- Support the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, including user guides, API documentation, and diagrams.
- Troubleshoot technical challenges that arise during client onboarding and beyond to ensure successful outcomes.
- Pass detailed feedback and suggested improvements to the rest of the technology team.
- Contribute to Agile project processes, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and regular stand-ups.
Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in sales engineering, solutions engineering, or a related technical role, with experience in software development.
- Proven experience with integration technologies, including SSO (SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect) and API (REST, SOAP).
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working within an Agile development environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-technical audiences.
- Strong creative problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in querying databases using SQL or other query languages.
- Builds positive and productive relationships with both internal teams and client stakeholders.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience working with higher education institutions or knowledge of LMS systems is a plus.
- Prefer experience in navigating Higher Education Community Vendor Assessment Toolkit (HECVAT).
- Familiarity with JIRA and Salesforce.
- WordPress experience.
Salary & Benefits
Salary starting at $85k, subject to qualifications and experience. This position offers a competitive base salary but does not include commissions or sales-based incentives.
