Job Title: Grafana Cloud Consultant

Location: Hybrid Boston, MA
Type: Contract

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Grafana Cloud Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Grafana Cloud, observability best practices, and modern monitoring stacks. You will work closely with engineering, DevOps, and operations teams to design, implement, and optimize dashboards, alerts, and integrations for scalable cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design & Implementation:
    • Architect and implement observability solutions using Grafana Cloud.
    • Design intuitive dashboards and visualizations tailored to business and technical stakeholders.
    • Integrate Grafana with data sources like Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, InfluxDB, Elasticsearch, and more.
  • Performance Optimization:
    • Fine-tune dashboards and queries for optimal performance and reduced latency.
    • Establish best practices for metric collection, storage, and retention.
  • Alerting & Incident Management:
    • Configure alerting policies and routing rules based on SLAs and SLOs.
    • Integrate Grafana with alerting tools like PagerDuty, Opsgenie, Slack, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Collaboration & Training:
    • Collaborate with development and operations teams to understand observability requirements.
    • Provide training and documentation for internal teams to manage and extend the observability stack.
  • Security & Compliance:
    • Ensure secure access control and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in monitoring, observability, or DevOps roles.
  • Proven hands-on experience with Grafana Cloud and its ecosystem.
  • Strong knowledge of Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, or similar tools.
  • Experience working with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Familiarity with Terraform, Helm, or other IaC tools is a plus.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash, Python, or Go.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Grafana certifications (Grafana Labs or partner programs).
  • Experience in multi-tenant observability environments.
  • Knowledge of SRE principles and modern incident response workflows.
