Job Description

The Susquehanna River Basin Commission (SRBC), an interstate water resources management agency, seeks a part-time (12-18hrs/per week) intern to assist to assist in day-to-day IT operations, including helpdesk support based out of its Harrisburg office. This is a paid ($18.00/hour), temporary position without benefits. This position reports to the Manager of Information Technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to end-users regarding hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer systems, software, and peripherals.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems reported by users through helpdesk tickets or direct communication.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as system updates, backups, and antivirus scans.
  • Assist in the setup and support of audio-visual equipment for meetings and presentations.
  • Collaborate with IT team members to identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains.
  • Participate in IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
  • Adhere to IT policies, procedures, and security protocols to safeguard company data and infrastructure.

Education and Skills:

  • The ideal candidate will have base-level knowledge in IT/Application support and be enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in computer science or related field.
  • Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • High level of motivation and attention to detail
