NetOps Test Engineer, Mid
The Opportunity:

When a user tries new software, they expect it to be intuitive and run smoothly. Functionality, reliability, and user experience are key to successful software development-and that means rigorous testing. That's why we need you, a test engineering expert who knows how to thoroughly test software and work with developers to make sure our team releases the best software possible.

As a Test Engineer on our team, you'll lead the development of comprehensive test plans and collaborate with developers, engineers, and lab staff to evaluate software developed for the US Army. You'll oversee the creation of test cases based on user stories and requirements, using a combination of automated and manual testing processes to ensure thorough coverage. Using automation to streamline testing, you'll generate data and implement test cases to observe how the software performs, then document the results and communicate defects to the development team so they can start improving the tool. You'll automate continuous security and performance testing and monitor the health of those systems, ensuring they meet the Army's requirements for network performance, reliability, and security.

To be successful in this role, you'll need to have a strong understanding of the Army's tactical network architecture and systems. You'll also need to be familiar with the Army's network modernization efforts. Your knowledge of the Army's tactical network will enable you to develop test plans and test cases that are tailored to the unique needs of the Army's network systems and to collaborate effectively with Army stakeholders and developers to ensure that our software meets their requirements.

This is an opportunity to share your skills with a team as they write the code to test. You'll also broaden your experience in network operations and management, cybersecurity, and cloud-based technologies while exploring new areas such as automated testing, continuous integration, and continuous delivery that will benefit you, your team, and your client.

Join us. The world can't wait.

You Have:
  • 6+ years of experience in testing and validation of network operations and management systems, including in a military or government contracting environment
  • Experience with network testing and validation tools, including Wireshark, NetFlow, and network simulation or emulation tools
  • Experience in scripting languages, such as Python, Bash, or Perl, and with automation frameworks, such as Ansible or Puppet
  • Experience with Agile testing tools, such as JIRA, Eggplant, or Zephyr
  • Experience with Agile test methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, or other iterative development frameworks
  • Knowledge of network protocols, architectures, and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network routing and switching
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Network Engineering
  • CompTIA Network+ Certification, CompTIA Security+ Certification, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Certification, ITIL Foundation Certification, or Certified Agile Tester (CAT) Certification

Nice to Have:
  • Experience with Army network operations and management systems
  • Experience with cloud-based technologies, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure, and their application in Army network operations
  • Experience developing and maintaining Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMPs) and Test and Evaluation Strategies (TESs) for network operations and management systems
  • Experience with Army test and evaluation policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity testing and evaluation, including vulnerability assessment and penetration testing
  • Possession of excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
  • Possession of strong communication and collaboration skills

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
