We are currently seeking a Cohesity Engineer to join our dynamic IT team to manage and optimize our data management and protection infrastructure.


Job Overview:

As a Cohesity Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of our Cohesity-based data management solutions. You will be responsible for ensuring the availability, security, and performance of data backup, recovery, and storage infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of Cohesity’s platform and its integration with various storage, cloud, and virtualization systems.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Cohesity Platform Management:

    • Implement, manage, and support Cohesity DataPlatform for backup, data recovery, and storage management.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to Cohesity software and hardware.
    • Monitor, maintain, and enhance the health and performance of Cohesity environments.
  • Backup and Recovery Operations:

    • Design and configure data backup and disaster recovery strategies utilizing Cohesity’s features.
    • Implement backup policies, schedules, and retention strategies.
    • Perform regular tests and drills to ensure disaster recovery processes are effective.
  • Cloud Integration & Management:

    • Integrate Cohesity with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for hybrid cloud environments.
    • Ensure seamless cloud-based backups, replication, and data recovery.
  • Automation & Optimization:

    • Develop automation scripts to streamline backup, monitoring, and alerting processes.
    • Optimize backup storage efficiency and reduce overhead by applying best practices and policies.
  • Collaboration & Reporting:

    • Work closely with cross-functional teams (network, security, and systems) to ensure effective integration and operation of the Cohesity solution.
    • Provide regular reporting on backup status, performance, and health of systems.
    • Document solutions, configurations, and procedures for internal knowledge sharing.
  • Security & Compliance:

    • Ensure Cohesity solutions comply with internal and industry security standards.
    • Implement encryption, access control, and other security features within the Cohesity platform.
    • Stay up to date with security trends and implement necessary updates and patches.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience:

    • 3+ years of experience in IT, with at least 2 years of direct experience working with Cohesity or other data management and backup solutions.
    • Strong knowledge of data protection, backup solutions, and disaster recovery strategies.
    • Experience with hybrid cloud environments and integration of backup systems with cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Technical Skills:

    • Expertise in Cohesity platform configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
    • Familiarity with VMware, Hyper-V, and other virtualization platforms.
    • Experience with automation scripting (Python, PowerShell, or similar).
    • Strong understanding of storage protocols (iSCSI, NFS, CIFS) and networking concepts.
  • Certifications:

    • Cohesity certification is a plus (e.g., Cohesity Certified Engineer).
    • Additional certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or similar are desirable.
  • Soft Skills:

    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with other data protection solutions (Veeam, Commvault, etc.).
  • Knowledge of database backup, recovery, and management techniques.
  • Familiarity with container-based environments (Kubernetes, Docker).
