Title:

Systems Engineer (On - Site)

Kord Technologies, LLC a wholly owned subsidiary of KBR Wyle Services, LLC is seeking a Systems Engineer to be a part of the lead systems integration team for the Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS) upgrade.

As the LSI, KORD is focused on providing functional and product architecture, requirements definition and decomposition, and traceability at both the system and component levels of the GMLRS rocket.

  • The immediate role for the Systems Engineer (SE) will support the Chief Engineer, Lead Systems Engineer, and the Program Manager across functional disciplines for the design, development, integration, and testing of GMLRS rocket upgrades.
  • The SE should have experience in at least one key sub-system of a missile, (e.g., electronic safe and arm device, guidance, propulsion, control) and be proactive in closing technical knowledge gaps to develop an understanding of the intent of all sub-systems that will make up the GMLRS upgrade.
  • The SE will have the opportunity to gain experience from more senior level SEs to enhance his/her professional development in the depth of the systems engineering discipline by supporting the creation of program specific systems engineering standards and procedures that will form a part of the GMLRS upgrade program.
  • The SE will support the tracking of system engineering metrics to measure the development progress of the GMLRS upgrade program.
  • Use DOORS to manage the parent/child specification hierarchy, requirements, and traceability of the projects.
  • Generate CDRLs for multiple programs using IBM Rational Publishing Engine.
  • Drive the completeness and consistency of attributes and linkages within programs' DOORS environments.


Other Specific Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate subcontractor systems engineering SDRLs to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
  • Aid in the development of systems engineering CDRLs to support key program design reviews .
  • Support the traceability of hardware, firmware, and software requirements to the top-level missile system.
  • Support failure investigation teams and assist in root cause analysis and corrective action development.
  • Experience with DOORS Extension Language (DXL) scripts development or other Systems Engineering modernization initiatives is a nice to have.
  • Experience with Model-Based Engineering applications such as Cameo is a nice to have.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in an engineering related discipline or other STEM field.
  • 3 to 5 years or more of related experience.
  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain a DoD Secret Clearance


Desired Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of systems engineering practices, processes, and tasks
  • Significant experience working with a requirements management system
  • Broad and in-depth working knowledge of requirements management and analysis, which may include performing functional and system analysis, implementing allocation practices, performing verification/validation tracking, or other similar functions
  • Experience with database design/architecture and management
  • Ability to work across program teams to identify and resolve problems
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills necessary to effectively collaborate in a team environment and document, present, and explain technical information
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced engineering environment
  • Excellent attention to detail
