About the opportunity: Senior Staff Structural Engineer
We are currently seeking a full-time Senior Staff Structural Engineer to help us achieve our company mission. This person will be part of the Civil/Structural team, which is responsible for structural designs in facilities such as refineries, distilleries, and consumer packaging facilities. C&I is an employee-owned, full-service engineering design firm providing engineering/design/project management and procurement services to various clients in oil & gas, food & beverage, and distilled spirits.
Responsibilities include:
Prepares computer analyses and calculations.
Initiates discussion within the project team to arrive at design solutions that give the best value for a limited constructed cost.
Prepares complete design packages, including construction scope of work, for complex projects that meet design intents and customer expectations.
Research national and local codes, interpret grey areas, and recommend appropriate designs to meet requirements.

The Senior Staff Structural Engineer develops subcontract scopes including compiling team needs for field investigation and testing, including surveys, laser scanning, geotechnical reports, and exploratory excavations.
Contacts clients independently to obtain information or resolve design issues. Identifies work opportunities with existing clients.
The Senior Staff Structural Engineer monitors and reports progress against engineering schedules and budgets. Independently takes corrective actions to meet the plan.
With appropriate support, ensure designs are constructible. Understands construction techniques, limitations, and relative costs.
Minimum requirements:
Bachelor's degree or higher from an ABET-accredited engineering program with a minimum of 15 years of related work experience, or a bachelor's degree or higher from an ABET-accredited engineering technology program with 17 years of relevant experience.
Degree in Civil Engineering.
Driver s License

Ability to work on a team
Knowledge of seismic design and requirements of ASCE-7
Knowledge of structured steel, reinforced concrete, and foundation design.
Experience with software such as STAAD.
