Our client is a leading global investment bank in Stamford, CT. They are seeking a talented Principal Software Systems Engineer to own their 2025 Infrastructure EOL Remediation Program. The program is to mitigate storage and backup infrastructure that has reach end of service life. The key objectives are to upgrade 11 devices with global standards for service and support. Other critical project work includes the Sybase to SQL migration, 3PAR upgrades, NetApp EOL bridges & switches, and system development to automate internal and external batch processing/storage workloads.
This will begin as a 6-12 month contract with the potential for extensions and/or conversion. This will be a hybrid schedule (2-3 days per week onsite).
In order to be successful, you should have specific SME skill sets in areas including Perl scripting, JavaScript, Sybase, SQL, Python, Jenkins, GITLab, AutoSys, databases and software development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engineering new solutions to replace EOL storage and batch processing environments.
- Developing complex planning cycles to implement solutions without service outages or impacts to applications.
- Implementing and production cutover events. Weekend availability is required.
The ideal candidate would need a collaborative style, with ability to rapidly discover our current networking environment, prioritize specific designs that need upgrade, and work closely with a tenured team to complete strategic priorities.
Previous experience in financial companies with heavy batch processing and storage requirements for both on-prem and cloud is preferred. Automation skills are highly desirable.
Preferred Technology Experience:
Perl, Java, SQL, NetApp, 3PAR, Sybase, CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, GITLab, virtualization, VMWare, Google Cloud Platform/AWS cloud development for batch processing, event based & real time data analytics, data warehousing, automation certifications in Python, Terraform, Ansible or similar.
