Job Details

DUTIES:

This role will be responsible for evaluating and executing on a cloud migration strategy for an on-prem ASP.Net web application and it's related web and windows services. The individual in this role will work closely with Cigna's Cloud COE, the development team and the engineering leadership team to develop a roadmap for the cloud migration. They will then also work on the actual delivery of the application to an approved Cigna CSP. Additionally, this individual will also:
  • Define technical standards, design patterns, best practices and frameworks that are used by the development team.
  • Participate in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle, from requirement gathering to design and implementation, to ensure business needs are being addressed.
  • Use deep professional knowledge and acumen to advise functional leaders.

Qualifications:
  • .NET Core (v3+).
  • C#, WebForms or MVC, ADO.net.
  • SQL Server, Transact SQL.
  • Cloud Basics: Proficient understanding of concepts like IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
  • AWS: Knowledge of AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.).
  • OpenShift: Experience with deploying, scaling, and managing applications on OpenShift.
  • Containerization: Proficient with Docker and/or Kubernetes.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Hands-on experience with tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • CI/CD: In-depth understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline).
  • Version Control: Mastery of Git and its workflows.
  • Agile SDLC: Proficient understanding of Agile methodologies and Scrum practices.
  • Jira: Advanced experience in using Jira for task tracking and sprint management.
  • ITSM Tools: Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar IT Service Management tools.
  • Bachelors in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience and technical knowledge.

NICE TO HAVE:

WEB API core

Monitoring and Logging: Advanced knowledge of cloud-native tools like AWS CloudWatch, ELK stack, etc.
Serverless Frameworks: AWS Lambda, Serverless Framework.
Microservices: Deep understanding of concepts, architecture, and best practices, especially in a cloud environment.
Security: Familiarity with cloud security best practices, tools, and compliance standards (e.g., AWS IAM, security groups, VPCs).
Performance Tuning: Ability to optimize cloud resources and application performance.
Distributed Systems: Understanding of challenges and best practices in developing and deploying distributed systems.
API Gateways: Knowledge about tools like AWS API Gateway, Kong, etc.
Collaboration Tools: Experience with tools like Confluence, Slack, or Microsoft Teams.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
