Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Software Design Engineer for JD Intelligent Solutions located in Fargo, ND on the Engine Controller team , you will:
Implement software using proven programming techniques. Gather and format requirements directly from customers, create and review innovative software designs, and perform analysis and make recommendations and design decisions.
Perform detailed unit, integration, and systems verification and validation using software tools including emulators, debuggers, hardware in the loop and simulations.
Review documentation produced during the Product Development Lifecycle that is generated by other engineering groups and verify documentation is sufficient for product design. Generate support documentation as needed.
Collaborate with other project team members to ensure the final product has compatible hardware and software that performs as specified in the product specifications

What Skills You Need
5 or more years of experience in embedded software development.
5 or more years performing complex engineering work requiring application of standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out engineering tasks.
5 or more years of experience providing technical leadership to other engineers and technicians.
5 or more years of experience with real-time operating system concepts, task schedulers, or application development
5 or more years of experience with microcontroller peripherals and systems (PWM outputs, boot loaders, A/D converters, watchdog timers, interrupt and trap functions, serial and parallel interfaces, etc.)
3 or more years of experience with development and debugging tools (source level debuggers, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multi-meters, etc.)
3 or more years of experience with compilers, linkers and locator

What Makes You Standout
Experience with Product development
Experience with communication networks (e.g. CAN, Ethernet, LIN)
Experience with communication protocols (e.g. J1939, ISO11783, TCP/IP, etc.)
Experience with agile software development methods, including Product Owner and Scrum Master experience
Effective written and verbal communication skills (English)
Experience using model-based software development

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
Bachelor's of Science in an Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
