Mechanical Drafting Engineering Intern- Bothell, WA

Panasonic Avionics Corporation is seeking motivated Mechanical Drafting Engineering Intern to join our growing Engineering team in our Bothell, WA office. This 12- week paid internship will start in June and continue through August 2025 with an opportunity to potentially continue through the school year.

Responsibilities

  • The candidate will gain a broad exposure to the types of work done in the AIE Drafting Department, and will be introduced to drafting practices used by Seats, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering. Will gain experience using the Creo, BricsCad, and Capital CAD programs. After a brief training period, they will work closely with senior designers to support the Mechanical Engineering team by creating sheet metal part and assembly drawings in Creo. Afterwards they will assist engineering focal with incorporating redlines and markups in a large aircraft model during a retrofit installation.
  • The candidate will gain experience working in a large 1000+ part model in Creo utilizing the Windchill PLM software. They will also become familiar with installation drawings, electrical wiring diagrams, and cable assembly layouts. The experience would be a good introduction to Panasonic and for any student interested in the aviation industry.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate pursuing an associates degree in Design Drafting Technology.
  • Ability to come onsite at Bothell, WA office.
  • Familiarity with PTC Creo or other 3D modelling software, such as CATIA, NX, SolidWorks, etc.
  • Experience using Capital, AutoCad, or BricsCad a plus.
  • Preferred Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings.
  • Preferred Experience creating orthographic projection drawings.
  • Familiar with drafting dimensioning and tolerancing best practices.
  • Interest in the aviation industry a plus.
