Title: Apparel Designer

Location: San Francisco, CA

Duration: 6 months with possible extension

Pay: $42/hr on w2


Description:

We're looking for a Designer to focus on Sweaters for an apparel brand. You'll design creative, commercially viable products that support and deepen the value and identity of the brand. You will report to the Director and be based in our San Francisco headquarters.

About the Job:

  • Collaborate with Women s Tops Director in developing seasonal concepts for Women s Sweaters
  • Develop on-brand, trend-right products that drive equity and profitability for the brand and uphold our aesthetic standards. Drive innovation of the category through best-in-class fit, fabric, finish, style, and sundries development
  • Research and monitor the consumer and marketplace to identify opportunities to stay ahead of the competition
  • Develop relationships with internal partners, leading collaboration within Design and across Merchandising and Product Development
  • Sustain effective partnerships with Merchandising, Product Development, and Sourcing to ensure products are engineered to profit and quality/aesthetic goals.
  • Lead and conduct fit sessions to ensure the fit intent of each style
  • Manage creation and execution of PLM BOM data integrity: protos, commercial samples, and production
  • Strategize and drive GTM timelines, processes, and deliverables
  • About You
  • Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design
  • 4+ years of Design experience in the Sweaters category
  • Extensive knowledge of knit construction, including an understanding of knit yarns, gauges, stitches
  • Creative Suite knowledge, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Reader, PowerPoint, PLM
  • Solid flat sketching skills, good design, and color sense
  • Ability to multi-task and demonstrate time management; with the desire to work in a very fast-paced environment and an ability to not become frustrated with last-minute changes
  • Effective interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Must demonstrate an energetic, positive, helpful demeanor and a passion.
