REMOTE Data Engineer

One of SGA's premier Management Consulting clients is looking for a REMOTE Data Engineer for a long-term contract/consulting position. This is a role for an intermediate-senior level hands-on Engineer (5-7 years' experience preferably). This Engineer will join a team working on building data pipelines utilized by data scientists and other consumers for building out GenAI/RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) based solutions and systems.

Required Skills:

• Experience in software development.
• Strong proficiency in Python coding and capable of building data pipelines that can ingest data from various sources (legacy RDBMS/data warehouse, AWS/Cloud, Big Data/Hadoop, etc)
• Experience with GenAI RAG tools such as OpenAI, Chat GPT, or anything proprietary/similar used in an enterprise space.
• Experience with AWS and related tool/solution sets for Data Engineering (S3 Buckets, etc)
• Proficiency in statistical data analysis and data mining packages SAS, SPSS, MatLab, R, STATA, Excel, etc. Experienced on Big Data platform like Hadoop, hbase, CouchDB, hive, Pig etc.
• Worked with TeraData, Oracle, MySQL, Informatica, Tableu, QlikView or similar reporting and BI packages.
• Used SQL, PL/SQL and similar languages, UNIX shell scripting.
• Experienced with data modeling, design patterns, building highly scalable and secured solutions.
• Knowledge of agile software development process and familiarity with performance metric tools.
• Demonstrate enthusiasm, influence and innovation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills paired with the ability to develop creative and efficient solutions; tolerance in dealing with bad quality data.
