Salary: $130,000.00 USD Annually - $160,000.00 USD Annually
Description: Join our dynamic Engineering team as a Senior Systems Design Engineer and play a critical role in designing, documenting, and verifying cutting-edge electronic systems and embedded software for advanced medical applications. This position requires a proactive individual with a strong work ethic, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively. The successful candidate will ensure that products meet both regulatory and customer requirements while being cost-effective and delivered on time.

This job will have the following responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, test, and release analog/digital PCB designs for innovative medical devices.
  • Develop and verify embedded firmware solutions for medical product applications.
  • Debug, integrate, and test hardware and firmware designs at the system level.
  • Lead projects and contribute to advanced system development initiatives.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for hardware and embedded firmware designs, adhering to medical device development standards.
  • Collaborate across departments, including R&D, technical support, field service, and manufacturing.
  • Support regulatory compliance efforts in alignment with medical device standards.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers on projects and objectives.

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Basic Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
    • Minimum of 8 years in hardware and embedded firmware development, with at least 4 years in an ISO 13485-compliant medical systems development environment.
    • Expertise in schematic capture and PCB layout using tools like Orcad or Altium.
    • Proven experience with analog/digital circuit design, including FPGA development.
    • Strong understanding of communication protocols (SPI, I2C, CAN, RS232, Ethernet, WiFi, Bluetooth).
    • Proficiency in C, C++, and Verilog programming languages.
    • Experience developing embedded firmware for ARM processors or equivalent.
    • Skilled in FPGA design using platforms like Quartus Prime or equivalent.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of medical device documentation processes.
    • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, including test fixture development.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
    • Experience in endoscopic system design.
    • Hands-on experience with regulatory compliance testing, including standards like IEC 60601-1 and 60601-1-2.
