Job Details

SAGE Dining Services is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our fantastic team. In this pivotal role, you will connect our Systems and Software Engineering teams, collaborating to implement seamless deployment processes within our AWS infrastructure. You ll also play a key role in creating and maintaining our AWS environment using configuration management tools.

Our ideal candidate will bring a wealth of expertise in Linux systems administration, including user management, filesystems, services, network configurations, and security best practices. A Linux certification, such as CompTIA Linux+, Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), is highly desirable.

SAGE's home office is in Lutherville, MD, but this position is fully remote. Candidates must live in the United States and must be authorized to work in the United States and will be employees of SAGE. This is not a 1099 position. In addition, the person taking this position will be required to travel to the SAGE Home office each quarter.

Salary Range: $120,000.00 -$145,000.00 Salary

What you'll do:
  • Help maintain a world-class SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Software Engineering teams in simplifying development process (abstraction, right-sized capacity and scalability, A/B testing and deployment, simplifying environments, and rapid recovery).
  • Own the build & deploy lifecycle; drastically reduce build, deploy & rollback times while simultaneously reducing risk and exposure.
  • Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems Implement and improve monitoring and alerting.
  • Integrate and improve configuration management (mostly Ansible, some Puppet).
  • Work collaboratively and demonstrate teamwork, dependability and confidentiality.
  • Help maintain a world-class SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Own the build & deploy lifecycle; reduce build, deploy & rollback times while simultaneously reducing risk and exposure.
  • Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems.
  • Implement and improve monitoring and alerting.
  • Integrate and improve configuration management.
  • Stay aware of the latest cybersecurity practices and tools.
What you'll need:
  • Minimum 5 years of production-level experience in a DevOps, Site Reliability, or Infrastructure Engineering role.
  • Significant experience with Linux systems administration, including the management of users, filesystems, services, network configuration, and security best practices.
  • Proven record of building robust and secure architecture within AWS.
  • Ability to present and communicate architecture in diagrams and documentation.
  • Experience with the following technologies: Kubernetes and container orchestration tools, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like CloudFormation or Terraform, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions, scripting languages including Bash and Python, and monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or CloudWatch.
