Job Details

Description

We are searching for a DevOps Engineer to join our team in Houston, Texas. In this role, you will work toward optimizing the interdependencies between application development and infrastructure operations, enabling us to deliver continuously in both on-premises and government cloud environments.

Responsibilities:
Actively participating in the creation and management of the government cloud technology roadmap, ensuring alignment with solution patterns, application frameworks, and the technology roadmap.
Developing an understanding of government regulations for cloud computing products and development.
Collaborating with application development teams and architects to promote the adoption of DevSecOps and raise security awareness in infrastructure and application development.
Participating in a team responsible for the configuration, packaging, and deployment of development software and custom applications for government projects.
Planning and coordinating requirements gathering, justification, procurement, configuration, and distribution of test IT equipment.
Providing subject matter expertise on application server technologies.
Making key system design and integration decisions around tools, processes, and practices to enable teams to apply DevOps practices.
Being actively involved in the daily operational activities that impact important components/processes of the online Technology engineering work function.
Executing deployment operations to monitor and improve on pre-release, upgrades, and current versions of software.
Evaluating the compatibility of programs with existing communications hardware and software features.
Developing protocols to support established government development standards.
Improving operation and monitoring of advanced or complex features.
Developing processes and interface requirements.

Requirements

Proficiency in Microsoft Azure is required for the role.
Proven experience in DevOps is essential.
Knowledge and experience in DevOps Engineering is a must.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure are key.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills are required.
A good understanding of software development and software life cycle management is necessary.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Excellent analytical and multitasking skills.
Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Bash is preferred.
Familiarity with system administration, database design, and network management is beneficial.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
A keen eye for detail and commitment to quality is essential.
Experience with cloud services and containerization is a plus.
Ability to adapt and learn new technologies quickly.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
