This role will be within Technology Nationwide Financial (NF) Integrated Digital Services (IDS).

This is an exciting opportunity to work on the World's #1 CRM Salesforce. We are looking for a Specialist, Software Engineer to work on the Salesforce application as well as other emerging technologies.

Primary Responsibilities:
Contribute to the design and development of quality IT solutions
Coach less experienced developers through best practices, tools, and consistent processes
Identify and lead DevOps journey focused on automation and increasing speed and while maintaining quality
Contributes to large scale salesforce implementations
Supports external deployment process
Troubleshoots and provides solutions to software development problems
Demonstrate the ability to foster business relationships and possess good communication skills

Other Responsibilities:
Drive and build line performance to deliver high-quality solutions by eliminating waste and fostering an environment of continuous improvement
Continuously improves software delivery capabilities and build it run it adoption by collaborating and coaching within line
Willing to polyskill and learn other technologies


Minimum Qualifications
4+ years Java development or Salesforce Development (strongly preferred) experience with Apex and building Lighting Components
3+ years' experience with SOAP and REST based services.
Highly motivated individual willing to learn and participate in a fast-paced environment
Strong problem-solving ability
Experience in all Integration Patterns: API/APIGEE, ETL (Informatica/Talend), Event Streaming (Kafka), and Salesforce APEX

As a Software Engineer, you will focus primarily on providing high quality, efficient technology solutions to business partners by crafting new software applications or modifying and/or supporting existing packaged or custom-built applications. In this capacity, you'll analyze, code, configure, test, debug, document and maintain applications.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyzes, solutions, develops, tests, debugs, documents and deploys software according to standards in an agile environment.
  • Applies secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure our data and technology solutions are protected from threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Uses DevSecOps practices, tooling and techniques.
  • Drives continuous improvement and learning through ongoing training, practice and innovation.
  • Manages medium to large project priorities, deadlines and deliverables proactively.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to a Technology Manager/Director.

Typical Skills and Experiences:

Education: Completion of undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or other related degree. Technology experience or non-traditional technology certificates can be substituted for an undergraduate degree.

Experience: Four or more years of analysis and technology experience.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Proficiency in one or more programming language such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript. Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle. Proven ability to tackle complex business and development problems. Ability to thrive in a team environment. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

Nationwide pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement within the actual starting salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. If a Sales job, Sales Incentives, based on performance goals are possible in addition to this range.

The national salary range for Specialist, Software Engineer : $84,000.00-$173,000.00

The expected starting salary range for Specialist, Software Engineer : $93,500.00 - $139,500.00
