You Are:

You are a seasoned senior software engineer with a strong emphasis on delivering high performant and scalable infrastructure and platforms as a service solutions. With an extensive background in architecting and developing hybrid solutions (both on-premise as well as cloud-native), you bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the table. Your deep understanding of automation, troubleshooting, and operations makes you a pivotal player in enabling innovative, resilient, and scalable solutions across commercial and government cloud platforms.

Your adeptness at balancing innovation and reliability, and your ability to seamlessly navigate changing requirements and technical challenges, set you apart. What You'll Be Doing:
  • Hands-on coding (in multiple programming languages) for the bulk of your time, software development and operation of services with a focus on high availability, performance, and resilience.
  • Architecting and implementing hybrid infrastructure as a service solutions delivered to both on-premise datacenters as well as public clouds (Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform).
  • Developing and maturing CI/CD pipelines (branching, versioning, releases, quality gating) with an automation-first mindset.
  • Automating infrastructure provisioning and deployment using Infrastructure as Code (IaaC) tools like Terraform, OpenTofu, and Pulumi.
  • Creating solutions for internal developer portals with extensible platforms (e.g., Backstage.io) and control planes (e.g., Crossplane.io).
  • Defining and implementing standards for security, networking, and compliance in multi-cloud environments.
  • Integrating monitoring and alerting solutions for proactive issue resolution and performance optimization.

What You'll Need:
  • 12+ years of experience in cloud architecture, DevOps, and automating solutions in public cloud environments (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Javascript, Bash) for automation and process improvement.
  • In-depth hands-on experience with cloud-native tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, AKS/EKS/GKE, Terraform, and Azure DevOps pipelines.
  • Expertise in managing data pipelines and cloud environments.
  • Strong knowledge of hybrid cloud integration, networking, security, and authorization standards (e.g., OAuth, JWT, Okta).
  • Demonstrated background and knowledge in UI development (or UI integration).
  • Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting, monitoring, and optimizing cloud-based services in production.
  • Practical experience in developing automation frameworks for infrastructure provisioning and deployment validation.
  • Cloud certifications beneficial (Azure preferred, AWS, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Agile mindset, capable of working with changing priorities and delivering value in fast-paced environments.
  • Experience integrating observability solutions using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or similar.

The Infrastructure Engineering and Insights team is part of Synopsys Information Technology organization and is focused on the creation of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) solutions and advanced analytics products. Our team's scope covers a vast charter from creating home grown solutions catering to our unique scale challenges in the HPC/EDA world to integrating best of breed commercial and open source solutions to building actionable insights products for business critical metrics.
