Are you passionate about Continuous Improvement and Facilities? S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Production & Facilities function. As an Intermediate Technician, you'll be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team.

S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to support our vehiclemaintenance functions. As a maintenance technician, you will be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and support of our diverse teams. In this job, you will perform various installation tasks on continuous improvement and repair/maintenance projects as assigned by leadership - Facilities Maintenance or designate. You will work closely with various Product Divisions, Support Organizations, contractors, consultants, and other Facilities personnel. Tasks include measuring, working from ladders/lifts, dismantling of equipment, reading and interpreting drawings, disconnecting and reconnecting of equipment, cutting, bending, installing/dismantling of existing systems components, threading and assembling of hydraulic components, proper understanding and navigation of DC electrical systems, troubleshooting and repair of facilities/process equipment, rigging and movement of equipment both manually and with the use of a forklift truck.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Reading equipment diagrams, project commissioning documents, and material lists with ability to complete related assigned tasks.
  • Handle the inspection, repair, installation, modification, and maintenance of automotive and material handling equipment including Electric and I.C. forklifts.
  • Assisting or leading of repair of personnel carriers, lift trucks and material handling equipment.
  • Exercising some judgment/decision making on assigned projects or tasks.
  • Use of appropriate techniques needed to properly service hydraulics and electric systems on equipment.
  • Fabrication, installation, detailed disassemble and reassemble of lift truck and other automotive/material handling equipment.

What you'll Need To Succeed:

Job Requirements (To select this job at a minimum you must have the following):
  • 3-5 years of experience in the automotive field or industrial lift trucks/forklifts.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams or schematics related to garage equipment.
  • A willingness to further one's knowledge by gaining certifications in related fields.
  • Demonstrate the ability to use a variety of hand/Power tools related to automotive/material handling equipment applications.
  • Ability to troubleshoot a variety of mechanical problems related to automotive/Forklift equipment.

Major Physical Demands:
  • Standing Remaining in an upright position 75% of the time with intermittent walking and sitting.
  • Lifting Frequent lifting of components ranging from 5 lbs. to 50 lbs.
  • Walking Frequent walking short distances from job to job throughout the plant.
  • Carrying Occasional carrying of equipment components or tools weighing up to 20 lbs.
  • Pushing Occasional use of hand truck, parts cart, to move portable equipment a moderate distance.
  • Pulling Occasional use of hand truck, parts cart, to move portable equipment a moderate distance.
  • Bending Frequent bending required to perform job tasks.
  • Reaching Frequent reaching to install and remove parts or assemblies from equipment.
  • Handling Continuous handling of small hand tools, power tools and equipment
