Description

SAIC has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Network Engineer in Colorado Springs, CO at Schriever Space Force Base (SSFB) supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Directorate for Test - Ground Test (DTG).

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Support the Event Operations Lead by providing network connectivity monitoring, troubleshooting, and reporting during Missile Defense Agency (MDA) test events, to include on-console support, daily status reports, and other reporting as required
  • Provide communications (Secure VoIP, Secure Chat) support during MDA test events by acting as the singular point-of-contact between our group and the rest of the event community, to include set-up, troubleshooting, and access support for users
  • Coordinate with MDA elements to gather and verify connectivity information required for MDA test events in order to create an Event Communications Baseline document, then work to verify those connections prior to formal testing
  • Assist the Network Operations Lead with the design, implementation, and support of LAN/WAN networks and systems
  • Assist the Network Operations Lead with the development and maintenance of network system and service configurations
  • Document and troubleshoot network and system issues, as required
  • Create and maintain network diagrams and documentation, as required
  • Assist with the test and evaluation of network systems and services to reduce problems and make improvements
  • Assist with the configuration, implementation, and utilization o f network tools such as Cisco DNA Center, Cisco ISE, Wireshark, and Opmanager
  • Occasional travel (up to 10%) to support various hardware upgrades at remote sites
  • Ability to work infrequent night shifts for up to 2 weeks at a time with prior notice to support MDA test events

Qualifications

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field, with nine (9) years of relevant experience. Additional six (6) years' experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Clearance Requirements:
  • Must possess an active Secret security clearance or have the ability to obtain one; ship required.

Required Experience/Skills:
  • Must have CompTIA Security+ or CISSP Certification
  • Must have CCNA or higher Cisco professional certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Experience with Cisco routing and switching design and configuration
  • Experience deploying or managing TACLANEs or other cryptographic equipment
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Visio
  • Ability to travel (CONUS and OCONUS - Up to 10% per year and up to 14 days at a time) and ability to obtain a US Passport

Desired Experience/Skills:
  • Experience deploying and managing firewalls (Palo Alto and/or Cisco ASA)
  • Experience with network management and monitoring toolsets such as Cisco DNA Center, Cisco ISE, Wireshark, and Opmanager
  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux workstation and server configuration and operation
  • Familiarity with multicast network configuration, operation, and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with Cisco Unified Communications and AV endpoints such as VoIP Phones and VTC Units
  • Familiarity with MDA Ground Test, Flight Test, War Games, or Exercises

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
