Job Details

This is a hybrid role which requires onsite attendance at our Corporate Office in North Phoenix, AZ.

Our Department of Defense contract requires ship and a favorably adjudicated DOD background investigation for this position.

Job Summary

Responsible for coordination, development, and monitoring of overall operating budget of specified department including capital budget if applicable. Position will also be responsible for assisting in the development of requests for proposals (RFP), ensuring department's compliance with purchasing policies & procedures, supporting the development and final execution of contracts and purchase order requests, and identifying/implementing cost saving improvements. Will assist in the development of strategic plans and long-term IT spending plans, annual and forecast.

Education & Experience

Required:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field or equivalent business experience
2 - 3 years cost/financial analysis

Preferred:

2 - 3 years' experience IT Budget Planning (admin expense, consulting, and capital)
Strong experience with vendor management
PeopleSoft experience
CPA, CMA or MBA preferred

Key Responsibilities

Coordinates with assigned department leadership to support the development and monitoring of the annual operating budget, and capital budget. Includes providing assistance to budget team when needed, and development of tools to track spending in key areas.
Compiles and summarizes department budget using actual performance, historical budget figures, estimates budget figures based upon trends and forecasts for annual budget consideration.
Monitors all key financial areas applicable to the assigned department including Analysis of cost trends to identify potential areas of concern or opportunities.
Assists in development of Cost Proposals and / or Cost Benefit analysis by providing inputs based upon historical data and research applied against current requirements Assist the General Ledger team with accruals for in progress projects and purchases where invoices have not been received.
Reviews A/P and G/L entries to ensure costs recorded in compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation, Cost Accounting Standards, and company policy.
Development of expense tracking, reporting, reconciliations and projections of departmental costs for General Ledger and Budgeting.

Assists the assigned department in complying with company's procurement policies & procedures including use of small business vendors.
Monitors contract compliance including contract closeout procedures.
Regular and reliable attendance is required.

Technical Skills: Knowledge of invoicing process/procedures and accounts payable; knowledge of standard financial record keeping and accounting principles and procedures; knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Access); knowledge of voice systems reporting/accounting procedures. Ability to manage vendors and vendor relationships.
