Description:
This is an opportunity for a Lead Network Engineer for a Fortune 500 organization. The Lead Network Segmentation Engineer plays a pivotal role in the implementation, and execution of network segmentation strategies within this organization's manufacturing and distribution areas. This position requires a hands-on approach with a strategic mindset, collaborating closely with application teams to ensure comprehensive security measures while delineating clear scoping and roadmap plans for the network segmentation initiative.
The primary objective is to secure network segments with emphasis on protecting critical assets and applications; necessitating understanding of TCP/IP protocol, NetFlow traffic analysis, firewall access policies and branch site networking.
Proficiencies:
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of network segmentation projects.
- Support network segmentation strategies aligned with program objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and drive initiatives adhering to project timelines.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to liaise effectively with cross-functional teams and business partners.
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to assess security requirements and map out network segmentation plans.
Key Areas:
- Asset discovery and investigation using CMDB, IPAM and network mapping tools.
- Firewall syslog and Netflow analysis, including extensive use of Microsoft Excel, Splunk and LiveAction reports
- Check Point and/or Palo Alto Firewall policy management experience
- Operational knowledge of Cisco L2 and L3 routing and switching
- Understanding of connected, static, OSPF and BGP routes is helpful
- Flexibility for implementation and Hypercare support across multiple time zones
- Report timely progress and metric updates to project management team including daily stand-up, weekly progress and program-level support.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, related field, or equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience in Cisco networking, firewall management including Check Point Quantum NGTP and MDSM and/or Palo Alto PAN-OS, Panorama and SLS.
- Proven track record in designing and implementing network segmentation strategies.
- Certifications such as Check Point Security Expert (CCSE), Palo Alto Network Security Engineer (PCNSE), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or similar credentials are advantageous.
The ideal candidate will exhibit ownership, leadership, and a proactive attitude, driving deliverables and ensuring the timely achievement of targets.
