Job Description
Sustaining Software Engineers in the Digital Products and Automation team and will have the opportunity to work with many software products and related technologies. The candidate will have the responsibility for monitoring field-related issues, including the efficiency of processes and the performance of tools and equipment, ensuring high-quality deliverables for business objectives. The ideal candidate should be able to independently solve complex problems and be able to work under limited direction in a fast-paced environment. The candidate should be able to collaborate well with other engineers and groups and be successful in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities
- Track and route field related issues via Jira Service Desk ticketing system for Software Engineering groups.
- Provide technical support for Tier 1 Support, Field Engineers, internal and external customers.
- Handle customer escalations, conduct remote sessions, troubleshoot, and reproduce customer issues.
- Troubleshoot networking, software, and hardware issues.
- Perform root cause analysis for software/hardware issues reported.
- Provide improved system stability through wholistic system testing in real world environment.
- Maintain and optimize system configuration files.
- Develop tools to help with supporting the product for support or other internal teams.
- Maintain and update training environments for internal and external customers.
- Review and improve product documentation and processes.
- Work along with Engineering teams to develop solutions for customer reported problems.
- Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
- Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
Facility specific Responsibilities
- Travel required to various local and international NOV facilities, customer offices, and rig locations.
Qualifications:
- Experience with NOV control systems, and technologies.
- Must be able to troubleshoot integrated software systems.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2 years or more relevant work experience
- Experience working with the following software:
- SQL
- Linux
- VirtualBox
- Python
- Git
- Field experience on active drilling rigs preferred.
