Job Title: Lead Systems Engineer, Battery Controls Systems Engineering

We are currently seeking a Lead Systems Engineer, Battery Management System. This position requires an experienced professional with a strong background in EV powertrain system architecture, vehicle system design, and requirement management. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.

You Will:
  • Lead a team of high-caliber systems engineers to advance our cutting-edge battery controls and vehicle software
  • Contribute to our world-acclaimed battery and vehicle products for mass-market passenger vehicles and other business opportunities
  • Own and maintain systems architecture, design, requirements, and analyses in Model-based Systems Engineering environment
  • In conjunction with battery scientists, design, and algorithm engineers, develop functional and performance requirements for miscellaneous battery control algorithms
  • Collaborate with controls and infotainment software engineers to deliver novel software features in the realm of energy and charging to delight our customers
  • In conjunction with software, hardware, systems, and homologation engineers, derive and manage engineering activities for compliance to international markets
  • Drive system analysis such as FMEA and FTA for fault-tolerant battery system
  • Support software verification and validation engineers to ensure quality execution of software
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and highly dynamic work environment

You Bring:
  • 7 years or more of experience as a systems engineer for complete life cycle of complex embedded system products
  • Expertise in automotive systems engineering activities pertaining to safety-critical systems
  • Expert knowledge of failure analysis methods such as FMEA and fault tree analysis
  • Working knowledge of battery management system (BMS) and EV powertrain
  • Excellent organizational and management skills
  • Familiarity with automotive embedded systems development workflow

Advantageous:
  • Good understanding of automotive functional safety standards like ISO 26262
  • Experience with model-based systems engineering tools, such as Cameo Systems Modeler
  • Exposure to AUTOSAR
  • Prior software development experience in C/C++ or MATLAB/Simulink
  • People and project management experiences

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or other related fields is required. Masters degree or higher education is preferred.

Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.

Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid's equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs. (Cash or equity incentive awards, if any, will depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and company performance.)

Base Pay Range (Annual)

$171,500-$251,460 USD
