Job Title: Senior Workday Integration Developer
Location: Remote -Taylor, TX

Job Type: Contract to hire

Job Description

The client is seeking a Senior Workday Integration Developer to design, code, test, document, and maintain integrations and applications in support of critical business needs. This role will work within a defined Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), collaborating with business subject matter experts, internal technical teams, and external vendors. The successful candidate will ensure all developed solutions align with architectural standards and meet the functional requirements of both internal systems and broader market demands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop new financial integrations within the Workday ecosystem
  • Perform unit and integration testing to ensure system reliability
  • Support and maintain Workday inbound and outbound integrations
  • Clearly document and communicate integration designs through written specifications
  • Lead all phases of product development life cycle: analysis, design, testing, deployment, and integration
  • Architect and evaluate component and data design for optimal performance
  • Act as a technical lead during product planning and design phases
  • Provide creative solutions to complex problems
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve product quality and delivery efficiency
  • Serve as Workday Integration SME, offering strategic and technical guidance to cross-functional teams
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and support integration performance and incident resolution
  • Participate in system upgrades, patching, and enhancement implementations
  • May mentor or lead junior developers on the team

Required Experience

Senior Level Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience
Lead Level Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience

Must Have:

  • Hands-on experience with Workday integrations including:
    Workday Studio, Cloud Connect, EIB, Business Processes, Calculated Fields, Workday Security Framework
  • Experience with Workday Reporting and BIRT reports
  • Working knowledge of Java/OpenShift applications interacting with Workday

Preferred Experience:

  • Deep expertise in designing/developing within Workday architecture
  • Strong API experience: SOAP, REST, XML, XSLT, XPATH, JSON
  • Familiarity with Workday PRISM, Workday Extend
  • Background in: Java, Oracle PL/SQL, Kubernetes/OpenShift, Docker, Git, Maven, Jenkins
  • Experience with automation and observability tools (Ansible Tower, Splunk, APM)
  • Linux and financial systems experience: Treasury, Settlements, Credit & Collateral, Billing, BlackLine Cash Application
  • Understanding of SOA-based integration tools and architecture

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business, MIS, or related field (required)
    Or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge.
