The Manager IT Asset Management leads the activities associated with managing all software and hardware technology assets in the enterprise. This role involves overseeing the IT Asset Management lifecycle, including software acquisition, compliance, maintenance renewals, lifecycle planning, costing, and budgeting. The Manager builds strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders and is directly accountable for internal CDW hardware asset management. This includes validating asset management repository records for various statuses such as receiving, stock maintenance, deployment, asset assignment, inventory, asset preparation for use, asset retention, asset reclamation, asset retirement and decommission, asset refurbishment, and asset disposal. The Manager also directly manages a team of geographically diverse IT Asset Analysts.

Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Manage the performance of the Asset Management team to drive productivity and improve the experience coworkers have when interacting with IT.
- Review daily, weekly, and monthly reports for Asset Management to ensure service level initiatives meet department goals and objectives.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase productivity and drive consistency in support provided to CDW coworkers.
- Plan and drive Asset Management related projects and initiatives.
- Address issues of diverse scope, requiring evaluation of various factors, including current business trends.
- Define and regularly review the organizational structure to ensure alignment with departmental and business strategies.

- Define and maintain ITAM software and hardware policies, standards, and processes.
- Create, update, and maintain policy, process, and asset procedure documentation supporting asset and configuration management.
- Forecast available assets to ensure responsible purchasing decisions and compile data for annual budgeting.
- Manage staff responsible for corporate desktop asset management.
- Create and implement internal self-audits and external audits of software and hardware as required.
- Conduct periodic reviews to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Design monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting of the IT asset portfolio, updating internal controls for accuracy and efficiency.
- Work with internal stakeholders and vendors to ensure proper management of hardware and software assets.
- Lead medium to large project-driven deliverables, including creating and maintaining project schedules, project risks, and facilitating project discussions.
- Identify savings opportunities for renewals, software licensing, and services, and follow through with vendors and IT software owners to obtain identified savings.
- Manage all aspects of budgeting, software compliance, contracts, agreements, and cost comparisons.
- Perform contract reviews from an IT risk perspective.
- Utilize reporting to ensure data accuracy of budgeting, software compliance, contracts, and costs, and follow up with Analysts for remediation.
- Respond to requests from users, managers, and team members for specific IT software and hardware asset management data information.
- Recommend and execute ITAM policies, processes, and procedures for effective software lifecycle management.
- Audit and monitor purchased entitlements, including license usage, to ensure compliance.
- Perform all maintenance renewals, including PO creation and receiving, and ensure proper amortization rules are communicated to finance.
- Provide appropriate budget information for assigned contracts and manage renewals to budget.
- Lead conversations between management and vendors around purchases, roadmaps, security concerns, renewals, contracts, and agreements.
- Respond urgently to out-of-compliance conditions.
- Directly manage team members, lead team meetings, and maintain monthly status reports.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 7 years of related IT work experience and 1 year of management experience OR, 11 years of years of related IT work experience and 1 year of management experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all stakeholders, including senior leadership.
- Track record of balancing competing priorities and adapting to changing business needs while meeting deadlines.
- Demonstrated experience leading projects, delegating responsibilities, and managing resources.
- History of building and maintaining productive cross-functional relationships with key stakeholders and business partners.
- Strong attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills.
- Ability to document, write, and present information to all stakeholder levels.
- Data analysis skills, including Excel knowledge, research work, analyzing reports, and data reconciliation.
- Clear understanding of software entitlements.
- Strong expertise in ServiceNow, specifically experience with CMDB, and ITAM SAMPro / HAMPro modules.
- Experience interpreting licensing terms and conditions. Ability to travel to Corporate Headquarters minimum of 4 times per year.
- Strong IT Vendor management with 5+ years of experience, a plus.
- Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM), Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional (CHAMP), and/or CSAM (Certified Software Asset Management) industry certification strongly preferred, a plus.
- Experience managing licensing entitlements for Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, Salesforce, and Workday, a plus.
- Experience with PowerBI or other enterprise reporting tools, a plus.
- Medium to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, a plus.
- Certification or equivalent knowledge of the key elements, concepts, and terminology used in the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) service lifecycle, a plus.
- Experience with a SAM tool suite and/or asset discovery toolset, a plus.
