Job Summary:
Salas O'Brien is looking to fill an energy engineer position to lead and support our energy and decarbonization work on a project and portfolio level.
Job tasks include:
- Identification, cost-benefit analysis, and further development of energy efficiency
- Sustainability and decarbonization initiatives to meet carbon reduction goals in the built environment.
- Lead decarbonization plan development through beneficial electrification and other capital upgrades/investments.
Job tasks may include:
- Evaluating energy performance and carbon reduction assessments
- Conducting ASHRAE Level II & III Energy Audits
- Performing retro-commissioning in commercial, institutional and multifamily buildings
- Managing project teams
- Developing clean energy project including scope development, energy savings calculations and cost estimating
- Conducting technical energy efficiency measure savings calculations and economic analyses
- Conducting building energy simulation and thermal load analysis
- Presenting project results to various stakeholders including client executives
The ideal candidate should:
- Have at least 5 years of experience in energy auditing, retro-commissioning and energy analysis
- Have demonstrated experience in energy auditing, retro-commissioning and decarbonization
- Be a licensed professional with a bachelor's degree in engineering
- Knowledge of New York City Local Laws, including 84, 87, & 97
- Have energy industry related certifications
- Have experience with large commercial buildings including healthcare, higher education and K-12 schools
- Have strong analytical, technical, writing and presentation skills
