What you'll do

Docusign is looking for a highly motivated Software Engineer, Backend to join the Orchestration team. The Software Engineer will execute on all aspects of the software development lifecycle including design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of the e-commerce application.

You enjoy fast-paced entrepreneurial environments where you can solve difficult problems using current technologies and tools. You collaborate well with other team members when brainstorming, designing, and implementing new solutions. You enjoy helping the team succeed by thinking about ways to improve processes, suggesting ways to make the team more effective, mentoring and modeling engineering best practices.

You will have the opportunity to work on a complex ecosystem in the cloud with a focus on scale and availability. You will be responsible for developing software solutions using object-oriented methodologies, design patterns, and building scalable, highly available systems. You will also have experience with public cloud and be curious and able to learn new technologies and toolsets.

This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Sr. Manager, Engineering.

Responsibility
  • Develop high quality, maintainable code in C# .Net or other object-oriented languages
  • Work in SQL, Backend Services, REST API, Azure stack
  • Work as part of a passionate, agile development team to deliver engaging user experiences
  • Work with Project Management and other developers to understand design requirements and provide estimates for development
  • Participate in an Agile environment using Scrum software development practices, automated unit testing, continuous integration, code reviews, version control systems, automated build processes
  • Raise issues proactively that might impact delivery commitments
  • Research new features and technologies
  • Fix production issues and maintain the code as needed
  • Participate in live site reviews and help implement new features and processes to improve site reliability
  • Be responsible for sharing and adoption of best practices for performance and availability for one or more functional area
  • Contribute to and drive a culture of building scalable and highly available systems
  • Identify, propose, and implement process improvements to continuously increase the team's' productivity and efficiency
  • Stay current with the latest development best practices and share your findings with the team
  • Work as part of a cross-site development team to drive design, implementation, testing and release of products


Job Designation

Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

What you bring

Basic
  • BS degree in Computer Science or relevant field of study
  • 5+ years of product development experience building large-scale applications
  • Hands-on, professional experience with consuming and building RESTful web-services
  • Experience working in an agile development environment
  • Experience with git, continuous integration and deployment tools

Preferred
  • Experience working with Azure stack such as Cosmos DB, Service Bus, Event Hub
  • Experience with Kubernetes
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to learn and curious about new technologies and tool sets


Wage Transparency

Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:

California: $134,900.00 - $216,975.00 base salary

Illinois and Colorado: $129,000.00 - $182,250.00 base salary

Washington and New York (including NYC metro area): $129,000.00 - $190,550.00 base salary

This role is also eligible for bonus, equity and benefits .
