Description
We are searching for a GIS Analyst to join our team in ANNAPOLIS, Maryland. As a GIS Analyst, you will be crucial in the maintenance and troubleshooting of our permitting system. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
Identify and rectify restrictions within the permitting system
Ensure system functionality, particularly concerning address and unit entries
Utilize ArcGIS Server to manage and analyze geographical data
Facilitate the successful progression of system users by ensuring necessary data is present
Conduct regular system maintenance to ensure optimal performance
Manage and update a database of addresses as required
Provide system users with necessary support and guidance
Collaborate with team members to identify and implement system improvements.
Requirements
Proficient in the use of ArcGIS Server
Bachelor's degree in Geographical Information Systems or a related field
Proven experience as a GIS Analyst or similar role
Proficient understanding of spatial analysis methods and concepts
Ability to interpret, analyze and integrate spatial data
Strong knowledge in cartography and geographical information systems
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
Proficient in data collection and data analysis
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently
Knowledge of programming languages like Python or SQL is a plus
Familiarity with remote sensing or GPS data collection is desirable.
