Job Details
Piper Companies is currently seeking a Network Engineer for an opportunity supporting DISA. The Network Engineer will work onsite 3-4 days a week. The role requires a strong background in both data center and routing/switching technologies, specifically with experience in Cisco Nexus environments.
Responsibilities of the TS/SCI Network Engineer :
Work on new feature development, contribute towards architecture/design, and assist with maintenance of existing network infrastructure.
Follow current network management best practices in a secure environment.
Work with vPC, FabricPath, STP, and Data Center Layer 2 overlays such as VXLAN, OTV, EVPN.
Manage network protocols including PTP, NTP, DNS, DHCP.
Handle traffic management tasks like queuing, policing, and shaping.
Qualifications of the TS/SCI Network Engineer :
Must be able to Obtain and Maintain TS/SCI Clearance
Experience with Nexus environments.
Proficiency in vPC, FabricPath, STP.
Knowledge of Data Center Layer 2 overlays: VXLAN, OTV, EVPN.and Familiarity with network management protocols: PTP, NTP, DNS, DHCP.
Understanding of Layer 2 security features: port security, MACsec, ACL, private VLANs.. Experience with Layer 3 overlay protocols: OTV, LISP.
Expertise in routing protocols and features: OSPF, ISIS, MBGP, IBGP, PBR, BFD.
Knowledge of multicast protocols: PIM, IGMP, RP, BSR.
Compensation for the TS/SCI Network Engineer :
Salary: $130,000 - $180,000
