We are looking for a Data QA Engineer to work out of Dallas, TX

Responsibilities

  • Data Validation and Testing:
    • Perform comprehensive validation of data migrated from the SQL Data Warehouse to the Azure Databricks Lakehouse.
    • Develop and execute test cases, scripts, and queries to identify data discrepancies.
  • Data Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness across both environments.
    • Collaborate with data engineering teams to resolve data quality issues promptly.
  • Automation:
    • Create automated data validation pipelines using SQL, Python, or other relevant tools to streamline QA processes.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
    • Document test cases, validation scripts, and any findings during the QA process.
    • Generate detailed reports on data quality metrics and discrepancies.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to define QA processes and acceptance criteria.
    • Participate in cross-functional discussions to ensure data quality requirements are met.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI for validation insights.
  • Familiarity with Azure Data Factory or other data pipeline tools.
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
