National Grid is hiring a Lead Product Manager for our Gas IT department. This position offers remote flexibility, with the requirement that candidates reside in one of the following states: New York (NY), New Jersey (NJ), Massachusetts (MA), Connecticut (CT), Vermont (VT), Rhode Island (RI), Maine (ME), or New Hampshire (NH).

Job Purpose

We are seeking a Lead Product Manager to guide us in defining and delivering our asset management technical capabilities. This work includes integrating areas of the Gas business with enterprise solutions to drive process efficiencies and richer insights, enhancing our asset data and information to inform planning and management, and identifying new opportunities to drive our clean, fair, and affordable energy objectives.

Key Accountabilities

Product definition and development
  • guide the solution vision and roadmap, leveraging data-driven insights and cross-functional perspectives to collaboratively define the product experience
  • facilitate increment planning, driving definition of outcomes and work delivery
  • ensure features, epics, and stories are clear including robust acceptance criteria and actionable work definition for design and technology partners
  • prioritize work based on clear criteria
  • collaborate closely with colleagues to ensure their work is unambiguous and unblocked

Product performance
  • lead definition of a product performance framework attributable to target business outcomes
  • define increment OKRs and ensure the appropriate work is prioritized to achieve target outcomes
  • collaborate with design to define user experience metrics as part of the product performance framework

Communication and engagement
  • build buy-in and trust for the team's work across stakeholders and ensure expectations are well-managed
  • collaborate with design and others to craft and proactively share a customer-first product story

Team operations and development
  • work with scrum masters and others to ensure your team is inspired and engaged
  • drive a positive, constructive team culture
  • collaborate with project managers to ensure work delivery is timely and on budget
  • mentor junior team members as appropriate
  • act as a servant leader


Qualifications

Required:
  • 6+ years product management experience
  • 4+ years delivering in a cross-functional, multi-squad product model
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrable creative and critical thinking
  • The capacity for self-motivation, independent initiative, and effective problem-solving

Salary

Brooklyn, NY $155,000 - $182,000 a year

Waltham, NY $145,000 - $170,000 a year

Syracuse, NY $128,000 - $151,000 a year

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
