The Work

As a Cyber Security Systems Engineer supporting the Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) program, you will apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop, validate, and verify Cyber solutions across the lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include:
Conducting cyber risk assessment activities, including threat modeling, vulnerability analysis, and analysis of mitigation solutions.
Coordinating and addressing Supply Chain risk management concerns.
Developing, evaluating, and analyzing design constraints, trade-offs, and detailed system and security designs in the Cyber domain.
Conducting cybersecurity test and evaluation of hardware and/or software designs to verify and validate compliance with defined specifications and requirements.
Implementing appropriate Assessment and Authorization activities as required by customers.
Specific technical responsibilities include:
Evaluating Linux and Windows computing platform devices, network designs, and devices for cyber security vulnerabilities.
Assessing and driving mitigation efforts of system security threats/risks throughout the program lifecycle.
Validating system security requirements definition and supporting secure systems operations and maintenance.
Implementation of security policies to meet Risk Management Framework (RMF) objectives including monthly operating system (OS) and software patches and quarterly reviews of Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG).
Interacting significantly with other technicians, analysts, and engineers to implement security designs, resolve vulnerabilities, modify system or software components security settings, and mitigate risk.

Strong technical expertise in cybersecurity and system engineering.
Experience in conducting cyber risk assessments and implementing security policies.
Familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and related cybersecurity processes.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
The ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Additional Requirements
Security + or equivalent certification required

This position is located at either Hurlburt Field in Okaloosa County, Florida, or Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with 5 years experience or 9+ years of equivalent experience/combined education and/or certification.
Expertise in securing at least one of the following: Linux, Windows, or Cisco.
Security + or equivalent certification required.
Expertise in Windows environment and Unix/Linux file system.
Ability to analyze security reports and develop/implement a plan to mitigate security vulnerabilities.
Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Security Clearance.

Desired skills

Maintain DoD 8570 certification
Experience using McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator
Experience using Security Center/ACAS - Assured Compliance Assessment Solution
Experience using Splunk - Security Information and Event Management tools
Experience with Host Base Security System (HBSS) Deployment and management
Scripting experience (e.g. Python, Bash, PowerShell).
Strongly written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work remotely

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $93,400 - $179,000. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
