Description
We are looking for an experienced Cyber Security Engineer to join our team in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In this long-term contract role, you will play a critical part in safeguarding our organization's digital infrastructure by implementing robust security measures and addressing evolving cyber threats. This position offers the opportunity to work in the transport industry, contributing to innovative and secure solutions that enhance the safety and efficiency of our systems.
Responsibilities:
Design and implement advanced security protocols to protect sensitive organizational data.
Identify and mitigate vulnerabilities across hardware, software, and applications.
Perform regular security audits and penetration testing to evaluate system integrity.
Actively monitor network activity for potential threats and maintain detailed security logs.
Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents, ensuring timely resolution.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain a comprehensive security strategy.
Assess new applications for security compliance and vulnerabilities before deployment.
Coordinate with managed service providers to ensure seamless security operations.
Stay informed about emerging cybersecurity trends and technologies to continuously improve practices.
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity roles, with hands-on expertise in security tools and technologies.
Strong knowledge of networking protocols, operating systems, and common cyberattack techniques.
Experience deploying and managing security platforms such as Checkpoint and AWS technologies.
Proficiency in configuring and monitoring cyber security tools, including SIEMs and vulnerability scanners.
Skilled in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, along with strong communication skills.
Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or similar are highly preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
