Job Description

To provide a safe and comfortable environment in the field of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (H.V.A.C.).

Job Responsibility

  • Inspects, troubleshoots, repairs and maintains air conditioning systems, heating systems, ventilation and all related control systems
  • Assembles, dissembles, repairs and maintains various components such as cooling towers, coils, air handling equipment, pneumatic and electric controls, pneumatic valves, pumps and gauges, duct work, dampers, etc
  • Continuous preventative maintenance of all H.V.A.C systems by testing and replacing worn parts, making adjustments, repairs and lubrication. Insulates pipe, duct work and air handling units.
  • Repairs roof top, window and wall air conditioning units.
  • Performs related duties, as required.

Job Qualification

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Vocational High School graduate with two (2) years technical courses in heating, ventilation and air conditioning.
  • Minimum two (2) years experience in heating, ventilation and air conditioning, required. Refrigeration license, preferred.
  • Refrigeration usage certification, preferred. Knowledge of refrigeration tools such as charging gauges, pumps, etc., electrical measuring meters, central chiller systems, cooling towers, knowledge of computer system for controlling HVAC systems using direct digital controls, required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication. Manual dexterity. Ability to work independently. Team player. Ability to read and trace circuits from prints. Read and interpret blueprints and diagrams. Ability to use hand and power tools. Working knowledge of all building, grounds, facilities and department work areas, required.
