Sr Application Support Specialist

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Application Support Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing advanced technical support and ensuring the smooth operation of applications for our diverse range of clients. You will work closely with our development and IT teams as well as vendors, clients, and end users to resolve issues, implement improvements, and enhance the overall user experience.
Key :
*Provide Advanced Technical Support:
oOffer expert
-level support for application issues, diagnosing and resolving problems in a timely and efficient manner.
oManage and troubleshoot application errors and system malfunctions, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to business operations.
*Application Monitoring and Maintenance:
oMonitor application performance and system health to detect and address issues proactively.
oPerform regular maintenance and updates to ensure applications are running optimally and securely.
*User Assistance and Training:
oAssist end
-users by providing guidance and training on application usage and best practices.
oDevelop and maintain user documentation and support materials.
*Incident and Problem Management:
oHandle escalated support requests and manage complex incidents through to resolution.
oConduct root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement preventive measures.
*Collaboration and Communication:
oCollaborate with cross
-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and network engineers, to resolve application
-related issues.
oCommunicate effectively with clients, vendors, MSPs, and end users to understand their needs and provide tailored support solutions.
*Continuous Improvement:
oIdentify opportunities for application enhancements and work with the development team to implement changes.
oStay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend and implement improvements.
Qualifications:
*Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
*Minimum of 5 years of experience in application support or a related technical role, preferably in manufacturing, petrochemical, refinery, chemical/industrial, or pharmaceutical/scientific industries
*Proficiency in diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving complex application issues.
*Strong knowledge of database systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server) and programming languages (e.g., .NET, C#, JavaScript).
*Experience with application monitoring tools and techniques.
*Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non
-technical users.
*Strong problem
-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Preferred Skills:
*Experience with application support in manufacturing, petrochemical, refinery, chemical/industrial, or pharmaceutical/scientific industries
*Experience with remote monitoring and management (RMM) tools.
*Knowledge of server and network infrastructure support.
*Familiarity with reporting systems such as SQL Reporting Services (SSRS) and Crystal Reports.
*Certifications in relevant technologies or IT support methodologies.
