We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to support high-visibility programs within a leading investment management environment. The role will serve as a servant-leader and Agile coach across multiple cross-functional squads focused on modernizing portfolio systems, regulatory platforms, and enterprise data capabilities. The ideal candidate will bring a strong Agile mindset, deep understanding of financial services, and hands-on experience facilitating Scrum and hybrid Agile teams. The environment demands someone who can foster team agility while ensuring alignment to enterprise delivery standards, compliance mandates, and investment governance frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
Guide teams in the consistent application of Agile/Scrum principles, practices, and frameworks in a regulated financial services context
Facilitate all Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, backlog refinement, and PI planning (if in SAFe environment)
Collaborate with Product Owners to ensure well-defined product backlogs, story refinement, and prioritization in alignment with business goals
Drive delivery velocity while ensuring quality, team collaboration, and risk mitigation across sprints/releases
Proactively identify and remove team impediments, coordinating with other teams, platform leads, and enterprise functions (e.g., risk, compliance, architecture)
Monitor and report on team health, velocity trends, and sprint progress using JIRA, Confluence, and dashboards
Promote Agile maturity by coaching team members, stakeholders, and adjacent teams, helping them adopt Agile thinking and practices
Ensure transparency and alignment with enterprise governance models, regulatory timelines, and strategic outcomes
Core Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Technology, or related field
10+ years of experience in an Agile delivery role, with at least 5+ years as a Scrum Master in a financial or investment services organization
Strong understanding of investment management, trading workflows, or financial reporting domains
Experience supporting cross-functional product teams working on initiatives such as:
Portfolio or fund management platforms
Regulatory reporting systems (e.g., ESG, SEC, MiFID)
Data platforms and integration with enterprise data lakes
Proficiency with Agile tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Miro, and reporting via Excel or dashboards
Excellent facilitation, conflict resolution, and servant-leadership capabilities
Ability to collaborate with PMOs, business leads, architecture teams, and external vendors
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PMI-ACP, SAFe Scrum Master, or equivalent Agile certification
Familiarity with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and experience in PI Planning or Agile Release Train coordination
Exposure to financial applications/platforms such as Charles River, Eagle, Aladdin, or proprietary systems
- Knowledge of Agile delivery in regulated environments, with awareness of risk/compliance impacts on velocity and release cycles
