Job Details

JSG is seeking an Electrical Engineer-Circuit Design contractor for our client in Camarillo, CA.
Summary:
  • Responsible for the design and development of power and control electronic equipment for motor, generator, and power system applications.
  • Apply engineering principles to develop new, standard, or modified components and products.
  • Work independently or as part of a cross-functional team under the guidance of an Engineering Manager.

Position Duties:

Essential functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with project engineers and analyze engineering data to develop design concepts that align with technical requirements.
  • Create preliminary or working layouts, estimate engineering time, and conduct system and circuit performance analyses.
  • Interpret and apply industry standards and specifications for product performance.
  • Ensure design compliance with internal engineering standards, customer specifications, and company policies.
  • Identify and resolve design challenges by working with relevant departments and processing necessary engineering changes.
  • Communicate with customers, suppliers, and external partners regarding product design matters.
  • Conduct customer specification reviews and maintain specification cross-reference databases.
  • Support production teams during the assembly of new and existing designs.
  • Stay up to date on advancements in the field of electrical design engineering.
  • Maintain strong oral and written communication skills, along with high ethical and professional standards.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  1. Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with 5-10 years of experience in product design engineering.
  2. Experience in generator/motor controller design preferred, with an emphasis on hands-on product assembly and troubleshooting. Other electro-mechanical or power electronics experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  3. Knowledge of performance and qualification testing, including EMI testing per aerospace or similar industry standards.
  4. Proficiency with circuit design and analysis software.
