Position: SQL Developer
Location: New York City, NY- only local (Hybrid)

PETADATA is currently looking to hire for the position of SQL Developer for one of their clients.
Roles & Responsibilities:

Must collaborate with application developers and business analysts to design and implement efficient database structures.

Create and maintain logical and physical data models.

Normalize data to minimize redundancy and improve query performance.

Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data retrieval, transformation, and reporting.

Ensure efficient data manipulation operations (inserts, updates, deletes).
-
Implement stored procedures, triggers, and user-defined functions.
-
Design and create database objects (tables, indexes, views, etc.) based on business requirements.
-
Define constraints, relationships, and data integrity rules.
-
Optimize schema design for scalability and performance.
-
Install, configure, and upgrade SQL Server instances.
-
Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize query execution plans.
-
Manage security, access controls, and user permissions.
-
Perform regular backups and ensure data recovery procedures are in place.
Required Skills:
-
Required 9+ years of experience as an SQL Server DBA or similar role.
-
Proficiency in data modeling tools (e.g., ERwin, ER/Studio, or similar).
-
Strong understanding of DML (SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE) and DDL (CREATE, ALTER, DROP) statements.

Experience with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and T-SQL.

Familiarity with performance monitoring tools and query optimization techniques.

Certifications such as MCSA: SQL Server or MCSE: Data Management and Analytics are a plus.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
Educational Qualification:
Bachelor's/ Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
