The storefront engineering team is seeking a dedicated and motivated Senior Software Engineer within our Discover and Engage division. Discover and Engage team is responsible for powering Chewy.com's Home Page, Navigation, Product Details Page, & My Accounts. Delivering reliable and high-performance services and features at Chewy's scale requires engineers with extraordinary expertise and boundless creativity. What You'll Do:
- Design, build new features and capabilities on our customer-facing application across the Home, Nav, Product Display Pages of chewy.com
- Write scalable, performant, readable, and tested frontend code
- Participate in technical decisions and collaborate with talented peers
- Review code, and implementations and give substantial feedback that helps others build better solutions!
- Write documentation on design, architecture, and solutions.
- Provide mentorship and guidance for peers and more junior engineers
- Establish strong working relationships at all organizational levels and across functional teams
- Take responsibility and ownership of project timelines and work.
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor's degree (Computer Science or similar technical field of study preferred), or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of experience developing services with technologies like Spring/Spring Boot/Spring Data ecosystem
- Shown experience working with modern SQL/NoSQL databases
- Strong analytical abilities and a strong intellectual curiosity
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong time management and organization skills
- Ability to balance multiple priorities at a given time
- Must be team-oriented and have a customer service approach
- Determined, able to work independently or within a team setting
Bonus:
- Strong engineering background building products that are eCommerce scale
- Experience with AWS Cloud.
