Overview
This is a remote role that may only be hired in the following location(s): AZ, CA, NC, NJ ,TX
We are looking for a hands-on Senior Appian Developer who provides technology solutions and integration services for automating and improving processes within: Core banking, Credit/Charge/Debit Cards, Merchant Services, Payments (US, UK), Foreign Exchange, and Trade Finance. The ideal candidate should have the necessary skills and experience to provide technical guidance, estimation of efforts, understanding and deciding upon the optimal technology solution to achieve the desired business needs, day to day application support, should be able to navigate differing levels of gray/unknowns, and have excellent communication skills with other IT management levels, individual contributors, and business stakeholders. They must be able to move at a rapid rate of execution to deliver requests and take advantage of any opportunities as they present themselves and navigate through any resource constraints. They must have both the short- and long-term strategic view when deciding on the best technical approach. They must be able to develop Appian code and effectively oversee distributed development team members.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Appian Developer, primary responsibility will be towards the development and support of applications that support the Core banking (lending and deposit domains), Payments, Cards, Foreign Exchange or Trade Finance solutions/systems. This role will be responsible for all software aspects within the team including research, design, technology insertion, development, testing and supporting them.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Software application development and maintenance OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Software application development and maintenance
Preferred Qualifications
If hired in California, the base pay for this position is generally between $115,000 and $155,000. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.

- Provide leadership, technical guidance, and best practices to the solution design process and to other team members.
- Ability to drive change through collaboration, influence, and demonstration of POCs.
- Responsible for all aspects of the software development lifecycle, including design, coding, Code review, integration testing, deployment, documentation and maintenance.
- Establish and enforce quality standards in designing software architectures and principles.
- Focus on scalability, maintainability, testability, security, and performance.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic workplace.
- Coordinate and assist with troubleshooting of code defects, data errors and configuration problems to determine the origin of application error
- Working closely with Product Managers to execute on the business requirements
- Learning new things and go above and beyond the call of duty
- Always working to improve yourself and constructively support the team around you
Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
- Expert in leading delivery teams and building technical design documents
- Expert in Appian 24.X, Oracle DB/SQL, Web Services
- Experience Appian system administration and management
- Experience in Appian component implementation, SAIL UIs, Custom Data Types (CDTs), Records, Dashboards, Sites
- Experience with Appian Forms, Process Modelers, Rules & Expressions, Document Knowledge Center, Data Management through Complex Data Types, XSD's, and SQL queries
- Solid understanding of the online security both infrastructure and application side including but not limited to LDAP, Active Directory, Certificates etc.
- Experience is cross functional delivery across other IT teams to integrate the Appian applications with other existing platforms
- Experience with distributed systems architecture and design
- Hands-on experience must include:
- Design of UI SAIL Forms for Site and Tempo environment.
- Design of CDTs that interact with external databases o Design of role-based access control Appian components.
- Development of Records and Reports using SAIL.
- Use of Appian Plugins for use in SAIL and process models o Ability to traverse logs to determine system and development errors.
- Build/consumption of web services in Appian.
- Design of expression rules, constants, and query rules.
- Experience with complex enterprise integration services/solutions
- Post-delivery experience in assisting client teams in supporting the live application and perform hand-off and knowledge transfer activities, positioning our clients for long term success.
- Experience and exposure to API gateways
- Implementation experience with SAAS/PAAS based solutions.
- Knowledge of Banking Services, Payments, Risk/Fraud, BSA/AML, KYC etc.
- Experience implementing solutions using Agile/Kanban delivery methodologies
