SENIOR NETWORK ENGINEER / ARCHITECT (WIRELESS)

Provides engineering leadership and design guidance in support of the Copeland Enterprise Global network. Candidate will lead the wireless architecture design and operations development workstream for Copelands global wireless solution. Candidate will be the senior technical resource for all things RF and Wi-Fi and will mentor the operations resources in best practices for supporting the Wi-Fi infrastructure. The Senior Network Engineer will have a strong and broad level of knowledge around all things IT Networking to include Routing, Switching, Firewalls, Cisco ISE, Cisco DNAC, and Cisco Prime. The Senior Network Engineer / Architect will provide Level IV operational support for the IT Enterprise and provide guidance in the resolution of chronic and complex anomalies specific to the Wi-Fi deployment at Copeland. The Senior Network Engineer / Architect works under the direction of the Global Director of Network Services. A high-level description of the roles and responsibilities include;

Plans, designs, and implements network infrastructure technologies with a focus on wireless technologies, also including LAN, SD-WAN, Firewalls, and any other network systems.

Supports infrastructure operations as a Level IV technical resource and provides technical leadership and mentoring to the operations group.

Researches and evaluates emerging network and communication technology.

Provides leadership and technical guidance as an SME for the Enterprise IT communications.

Works with Security and Cloud Infrastructure groups as an SME for Enterprise IT Communications.

PRINCIPAL REQUIREMENTS

Fifteen or more years working hands on with routing and switching devices.

Minimum of 10 years' recent experience in the design, implementation, and operation of WAN/LAN and Wireless networks with Cisco hardware utilizing Cisco tools (Catalyst Center, ISE, Prime)

Detailed understanding of the function and configuration of Cisco Wireless networking solutions.

Advance experience configuring and troubleshooting of global large Wireless network infrastructure utilizing remote access, SolarWinds, Cisco ISE, Cisco Prime, Cisco Catalyst Center.

Operational knowledge of VLANs, spanning tree, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF

Functional understanding of SDWAN and related technologies required.

Assists with the evaluation of new and emerging technologies.

Support development and maintenance of scripts to facilitate network administrative tasks and automate repetitive processes.

Lead the evaluation of new hardware, firmware, and software. Tests and develops procedural documentation and training for others on installation and support. Maintains vendor relationships for support as needed.

Identifies training needs, coordinates training, and participates in the development of training materials.

Understands the Digital organization's objectives, and impact on own projects; contributes to development of new technology integration and enablement plans.

Monitors network performance and implements performance tuning.

Performs root cause analysis of problems and tracks, documents and reports identified patterns.

Ability to comprehend and create complex network maps and drawings in standard design tools (i.e. Visio)

Functional understanding of DNS, DHCP and related network services

Understanding of IP addressing including subnetting and supernetting

Provide proactive recognition and correction of network related problems.

Provide support to customers and staff during new WAN or datacenter installations.

Provide the coordination of repair and restoral efforts of various service providers, including monitoring services, telecommunication providers and ISPs.

Work with various customer and Enterprise IT support groups in diagnosing network service-related problems.

Ability to perform maintenance activities outside of normal business hours.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in CS, MIS or related technology/engineering discipline preferred or equivalent experience required.

Cisco Certified Internet Expert (CCIE) certification preferred, Cisco CCNP Enterprise Professional (CCNP Enterprise) certification required. Equivalent 5 years military experience in an IT Network Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) is also acceptable.

EXPERIENCE / SKILLS

Administering and configuring layer 2 and layer 3 networks

Excellent Communication and Teamwork skills

Advanced English language skills (verbal, reading, writing, understanding)

Experience of working in a global environment essential

Advanced knowledge of Cloud networking

Process Discipline and Documentation skills essential

Advanced understanding of routing and switching technology, firewalls, IP and RF signaling

Working knowledge of ITIL framework

Advanced knowledge of industry trends and products

Excellent network troubleshooting skills

Hands on experience with routers, switches, firewall, Load balancer, Cloud networking

Experience of operating in an Enterprise environment with strict change control procedures
