Role Overview
The Windows Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Windows-based systems and infrastructure. This role involves ensuring system security, optimizing performance, and providing technical support to end users and IT teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers and workstations.
- Manage Active Directory (AD), Group Policies, and user account administration.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and apply patches or updates.
- Ensure system security through antivirus, firewalls, and vulnerability management.
- Manage backups, disaster recovery, and system restoration procedures.
- Configure and maintain network services (DNS, DHCP, VPN, etc.).
- Implement and support virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Support cloud-based Windows environments (Azure, AWS) when applicable.
- Maintain system documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Provide technical support and assist with IT infrastructure projects.
