About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Java Developer to join our team in Houston, TX. This is a role within the Openlink Team, supporting front-, middle-, and back-office functions. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of hands-on experience with Java development, along with database experience in Oracle and SQL. A background in banking or financial services, especially exposure to commodities and the Openlink application, is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with multiple teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions, achieve goals, and identify & define necessary system & process enhancements
- Resolve high-impact issues with in-depth evaluations of complex business and system processes
- Provide subject matter expertise and advanced knowledge of applications programming to ensure design aligns with the overall architecture
- Utilize a deep understanding of system flows to develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation
- Provide in-depth technical analysis and use interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions
- Assess and manage risk appropriately when making business decisions, upholding the firm’s reputation, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies
- Demonstrate sound ethical judgment in all business practices, escalate and report control issues with transparency, and comply with industry standards.
What We're Looking For:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Java Developer
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Background in banking or financial services, particularly with the Openlink application used in the commodities space.
- Database experience with Oracle and SQL
- Strong communication and soft skills with a willingness to learn
- Prior experience in applications development, systems analysis, and programming within a complex enterprise environment.
