Data Operations Analyst (DataOps) - Talend / SQL / Databricks

  • Long term Contract ( 12 + months)
  • Hybrid in Ann Arbor, Michigan ( 2 days/week )
  • Client is a multi billion dollar ecommerce retail company
  • All Visa, EADs candidates are welcome
  • Relocation required for Non-locals.
  • Hands-on Analytics and Troubleshooting.
  • Cloud ( Azure preferred) with Databricks is required.
  • Good Exp working with Talend ( Development and troubleshooting Talend jobs) - MUST (2 years)

 

Summary:

The Specialist Data Operations is accountable for the design and operations of Enterprise Information Management’s Data Operations. This individual will also coordinate technical resources throughout the lifecycle of information investigation and data management. Secondary responsibilities include creation and maintenance of runbooks, team managed products and assisting in delivery activities.

 

EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years’ experience in large scale system implementation efforts following a standard software development lifecycle approach (Scrum desired)
  • At least 2 years of experience with Talend is a must.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in ETL Development / Data Integration.
  • Solid understanding of Relational database concepts and data processing concepts
  • Experience with Software development lifecycle including agile methodology
  • Hands-on experience with ANSI SQL (MUST) , Java, and shell scripting
  • Familiar with XML, JSON
  • Experience with business and technical requirements analysis, data modeling/mapping, and quality assurance frameworks
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to create systematic and manual data ingest monitoring and quality operations procedures in both technical and user-friendly language
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in a fast-paced rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to be able to provide off hours and weekend on-call support

 

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages operations of data ingest processes and ensuring quality of inbound data from various sources.
  • Investigates, resolves, communicates, and documents job failures/errors. Completes impact assessment and communicates to stakeholders.
  • Recommends technical solution to handle process failures.
  • Performs new setups and setup updates for existing integrations for customers and carriers.
  • Assists with new implementation testing and troubleshooting.
  • Assists as needed with new integration projects.
  • Work closely with Business Analysts, Data Analysts/Scientists, Development, and Product Owners to ensure data housed in multiple source systems is coming in on timely basis, is valid and accurate.
  • Monitor scheduled jobs and improve reliability of ongoing processing.
  • Act as translator between business and technical community interpreting data domain needs and translating them into more technical quality assessment rules for developers (and vice-versa).
  • Agile testing knowledge is a plus.
