Job Title: Senior Application Support Engineer
Location: Onsite Cincinnati, OH.

Job Summary: Senior Application Support Engineer to ensure the operational stability and performance of the Newline platform. This role focuses on real-time payments (RTP), BIN, and ACH/Wires applications hosted on AWS. The engineer will be responsible for monitoring transactions, performing log analysis, troubleshooting, enhancing system alerts, and debugging issues at the code level. Additionally, the role involves mentoring a small team and working closely with engineering and DevOps teams to implement robust monitoring, automation, and incident response solutions.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Level 2 support for Java Spring and Ruby on Rails web services.
  • Perform root cause analysis and collaborate with engineering teams for long-term fixes.
  • Support REST APIs, AWS Aurora, and PostgreSQL databases.
  • Implement and optimize monitoring solutions using Splunk, Dynatrace, CloudWatch, and APM tools.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for incident management and service disruptions.
  • Work closely with DevOps to enhance deployment processes and application resilience.
  • Ensure compliance with banking regulations and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Mentor junior engineers and foster technical growth within the team.
  • Document troubleshooting procedures and knowledge base articles.
  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation and critical incident response efforts.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in application support or related technical roles.
  • Strong knowledge of banking operations, compliance regulations, and risk management.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting Java Spring and Ruby on Rails web services.
  • Expertise in REST APIs, containerized services (Docker, ECS/Fargate), and AWS services (Aurora, MQ, Lambda, CloudTrail, CloudWatch).
  • Hands-on experience with Splunk, Dynatrace, and Scout for system monitoring.
  • Strong SQL skills with experience in PostgreSQL database support.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience with AWS Aurora.
  • Knowledge of Ruby on Rails development.
