Job Details

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer with 7-8 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of FIHR standards, resources, and interoperability concepts, along with experience integrating with FIHR data from Epic or other EHR systems. Proficiency in Python for data processing and working knowledge of FIHR APIs, HL7, Restful APIs, and JSON/XML data formats are essential.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines to collect, process, and store healthcare data from various sources, ensuring data reliability and scalability.
  • Integrate FIHR data from Epic or other EHR systems, ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability.
  • Develop and maintain APIs to facilitate data exchange and integration with other systems.
  • Work with FIHR standards, HL7, Restful APIs, and JSON/XML data formats to ensure data consistency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and healthcare professionals, to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality data solutions.
  • Implement best practices for data security and protection in compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to maintain code quality and ensure the reliability of data infrastructure.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in healthcare data standards and technologies to continuously improve data integration and processing capabilities.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7-8 years of experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on healthcare data integration and processing.
  • Strong understanding of FIHR standards, resources, and interoperability concepts.
  • Experience integrating with FIHR data from Epic or other EHR systems.
  • Proficiency in Python for data processing.
  • Working knowledge of FIHR APIs, HL7, Restful APIs, and JSON/XML data formats.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and engage with colleagues to drive project success.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with machine learning and data analytics in healthcare.
