Job Description
We are seeking a SharePoint Administrator to manage and support RTX Corp SharePoint publishing environments, ensuring stability, security, and operational efficiency. The role involves administration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and disaster recovery across staging, production, and DR environments. The ideal candidate will have experience in environment monitoring, capacity planning, patch management, and identity management (SSO integration).
Key Responsibilities
Administrative Activities:
- Manage SharePoint internal publishing environments across staging, production, and disaster recovery (DR).
- Perform content database management, including on-demand backup/restore and space allocation.
- Provide both environment-level and application-level support.
Environment-Level Support:
- Monitor SharePoint environment health and address performance issues.
- Handle support tickets related to SharePoint environment issues.
- Perform regular maintenance, including service pack/hotfix validation and deployment.
- Rotate service account passwords as per RTX policy (every 180 days).
- Support and troubleshoot external issues impacting SharePoint environments.
- Provide basic AvePoint support, including maintenance, administration, and patching.
- Conduct capacity review and planning every six months, applying capacity changes annually.
Disaster Recovery (DR) Activities:
- Apply patches to DR servers (SharePoint, SQL, DocAve) as needed.
- Perform a DR drill once per calendar year.
Security & Identity Management:
- Troubleshoot and support Ping Federate (SSO)-related issues.
Qualifications
Must-Have:
- 5+ years of experience in SharePoint administration (SharePoint 2019 preferred).
- Strong knowledge of SharePoint environment monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Experience in content database management, including backup, restore, and space allocation.
- Hands-on experience with service pack and hotfix deployment.
- Understanding of AvePoint administration for SharePoint support.
- Expertise in capacity planning and disaster recovery strategies.
- Familiarity with Ping Federate SSO integration and troubleshooting.
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience in SQL Server management related to SharePoint environments.
- Exposure to enterprise-level SharePoint deployments and governance.
- Knowledge of PowerShell scripting for SharePoint administration.
