Job Description

The Sr. Director, Business Solutions, Direct to Consumer(DTC) will oversee the strategic alignment between the Media Group's content supply chain feature roadmap and the Technical Operations team. The successful candidate will partner with the DTC Global Streaming and Product teams to ensure the successful execution of large-scale technology programs as well as process improvement activities in support of the Media Group. They will own the delivery of IT solutions and operational support inclusive of discovery, scope, defining project phases and budget for initial build & on-going support, vendor selection and working with Editorial, Product, Engineering Media Operations and Architecture peer groups across DTC and Technology & Operations. This role is also responsible to establish & own the support team for on-going post go-live support, feature bug resolution and solution improvements. They will oversee service delivery, program delivery, and application/infrastructure operational support - representing services across the NBCUniversal Operations & Technology division.

Responsibilities

The Sr. Director, Business Solutions will be responsible for expanding the current Business Solutions engagement model across the teams that support the DTC Content Supply Chain, inclusive of Platform editorial enhancements. Ensure that there is a clear, centralized process for feature intake and prioritization. Maintain a short\long term roadmap that aligns with the overall Media Group and Technical Operations Long Range Plans. Ensure process alignment for BAU tasks and bug resolution. Drive the end-to-end delivery of strategic initiatives in support of the Media Group. The Sr.Director will be responsible for cost, schedule, performance, and execution of Enterprise Programs. He/She is also responsible for implementing program management structure leveraging Enterprise tools, processes, and procedures. including scrum leadership on sprints, planning, scheduling, requirements gathering, validation, documentation, and release management.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver technology solutions and operational support for the Direct to Consumer (DTC) businesses within the Media Group division, largely focused on the Content Supply Chain (CSC).
  • Be an acknowledged expert who can represent the capabilities of NBC Universal's technologies in the evolution of our DTC business strategy.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on workflow, users and systems across our content supply chain; inclusive of onboarding (integrations, legal, acquisitions, programming) of content/users, ingest & prep of all materials (e.g. video, subs, audio, metadata, images), fulfillment (scheduling, ordering, delivery) and platform management. (QA checks, rejection management, reporting, etc.)
  • Influence, develop and align both near-term and long-term roadmaps for DTC CSC by effectively scoping requirements, assessing LOE, and prioritizing requests.
  • Oversee CSC service delivery, program delivery, and application/infrastructure operational support - representing services across O&T
  • Serve as the primary business engagement leader and strategic partner for both internal and external partners across the DTC content supply chain business and technical owners.
  • Provide clear communication on requirements, risks, impacts and strategy across various audiences inclusive of: engineering, product, operations, programming, commercial teams, working teams as well as senior, executive leadership. Ultimately communicate effectively at all levels, manage risk and issue mitigation.
  • Be a subject matter expert (SME) of our O&T supply chain services, capabilities, and technology as well as the SME of the broader DTC supply chain services, capabilities and technologies, in order to shape and align both against our strategy.
  • Provide engagement and support across the Peacock, SkyShowtime, Showmax and NOW\WOW propositions and present as the key leader into O&T for any CSC related inquiries, changes, and guidance.
  • Strong integration across multiple executive business partners and senior leadership and be available for any engagement needs serving both domestic and international clients.
  • Provide Editorial support for Single live events and Virtual Channels.
  • Provide Bug resolution support for editorial platform enhancements.
  • Own the delivery of technical solutions and operational support inclusive of discovery, scope, defining project phases and on-going support inclusive of hypercare & BAU transitions
  • Be relied on to provide guidance to O&T teams on behalf of the DTC business on any content supply related matters.
  • Be relied on to provide guidance to DTC business and technology teams on any TechOps related support.
  • Coach, mentor, lead, train, and manage a diverse team of business solutions managers supporting Peacock, SkyShowtime, Showmax and NOW\WOW proposition engagement for content supply chain needs with O&T.
  • Attend status meetings to monitor project health and budget, provide senior supervision, and serve as an escalation point when major issues emerge
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and provide technical guidance on existing platforms and business processes to project teams.
  • Work with business leads to secure project acceptance, hand-off from implementation to operational teams, and to ensure adoption of new platforms.
  • Standardize tools, templates, and methodologies for use in all major efforts, and ensure they are being consistently applied.
  • Provide hands-on direction and leadership in analyzing and resolving operational challenges related to the DTC CSC application portfolio
  • Act as a change agent by anticipating technology opportunities, proposing viable solutions, and enabling process/technical innovation
  • Manage global projects teams with competing priorities, diverse business objectives, and time zones constraints
  • Analyzes, evaluates, and overcomes program risks, and produces program reports for management. Works under the direct supervision of the VP, Business Solutions and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by manager as needed.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Management, or related field preferred.
  • 12+ years of combined work experience working with large scale program / project management, Business engagement & Technical Operations.
  • Experience with Content supply systems and processes.
  • Experience building and leading a project management office through design and implementation of PMO tools and processes.
  • Experience in growing organization and developing a team culture.
  • Successfully managed a large portfolio, program with multiple stakeholders
  • Communication and interpersonal experience, including relationship building and collaboration with a cross-functional team.
  • Deep understanding of Project Management Methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with excellent presentation and facilitation skills
  • Ability to prioritize effectively, think independently and problem solve to ensure all projects are completed in an effective and timely manner
  • Results-oriented with a history of problem resolution
