Pharmacy Purchasing Specialist | Rochester, MN | Contract
 
Walker Healthforce is seeking a Pharmacy Purchasing Specialist for a healthcare client located Rochester, MN. This is a contract opportunity.
 
START DATE: ASAP

JOB SUMMARY
  • Accurately procures and maintains inventory of medications and supplies.
  • Assists in managing medication shortages and ensures continuity of supply.
  • Processes medication recalls and coordinates proper return or disposal of pharmaceuticals.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory and organizational policies in all purchasing activities.
  • Collaborates with pharmacy leadership to optimize inventory control strategies.
  • Provides support for cost containment initiatives and vendor contract compliance.
  • Assists in budgeting, forecasting, and analyzing pharmacy procurement data.
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Education & Experience:
    • Option 1: Bachelor’s degree (business, management, accounting, or related field) and two (2) years of pharmacy technician experience.
    • Option 2: Two-year college degree (healthcare or business preferred) and four (4) years of pharmacy technician experience.
    • Option 3: High school diploma and six (6) years of pharmacy technician experience.
  • Current registration with the Board of Pharmacy in MN
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT)
 
PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • 2 years’ experience in pharmacy purchasing and inventory control
